At Javivo, we can use laser technology to combat the signs of ageing such as sunspots and other brown hyperpigmented patches on the skin.

We all love to enjoy the sun, but without the right protection sunlight (UV radiation) can damage the skin, especially as our skin gets less resilient with ageing. One consequence of this is when UV rays damage pigment cells in the skin and they begin to behave abnormally. These cells will start producing too much pigment (melanin) resulting in darkened patches of skin (hyperpigmentation).

Our medical grade lasers can be used to specifically target the dark pigment in the skin, without damaging the surrounding area. As the laser stimulates collagen production, it can also help to improve skin texture and signs of ageing.

Laser light treatment is appropriate for treating age or sun spots, sun damage, and freckles on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, and feet.

Most are surprised by how little laser can hurt! Our clients usually find some areas feel more uncomfortable than others, but pain is very variable. Some describe the sensation as a rubber band snapping against the skin. We use a cold air machine directed onto the skin to make the treatment more comfortable for you. No aesthetic is required for these treatments.

There is no anticipated downtime and you can return to your normal activities immediately. You are required to avoid intense sunlight and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen following your treatment.

The number of sessions needed are variable and depends on your symptoms. It is best to discuss this with your aesthetic practitioner during a consultation. Most individuals need between 4-6 treatments to get the best results.
