Whats the difference between Profhilo Injections & Dermal Fillers

Looking for superior facial aesthetic treatments in Manchester? Our skin experts can help. In today’s blog, we’ll compare two of our most popular injectables – Profhilo injections and dermal fillers.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable made from hydrating hyaluronic acid, which works to moisturise skin from within. It helps to boost collagen and elastin production, two key proteins responsible for tight, firm and smooth skin.

What are dermal fillers?

Again formed from hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers lift and tighten for a volumised appearance; help bring harmony to your facial features; and fill deeper lines and wrinkles. They can also be used in the lips (lip fillers).

What are the key differences?

Profhilo renews and repairs, rather than reshapes and re-volumises (the main benefits of dermal fillers). We recommend Profhilo as being a refreshing treatment that helps to give you a more naturally youthful look, without changing the shape or volume of your features.

What are the benefits of Profhilo?

It’s best thought of as a skin renewal treatment; Profhilo mainly works to improve skin’s texture. However, it can also create softer-looking skin that’s plump and youthful.

How about for dermal fillers?

Softer-looking skin that’s plump and youthful; enhanced lips; and smoothed-out lines and wrinkles. Dermal filler treatment can also be used to create a non-surgical face lift.

Where can I have treatment?

The face and neck are usually the most common areas for Profhilo injections, but it can also work its magic on the hands and arms.  Dermal fillers are used on the face and neck, particularly the lips, around the nose and mouth, the jowls and both temples and cheeks. They have also been used on the hands to plump the skin and fade the appearance of veins and tendons.

What’s the timeline for the procedures?

Profhilo injections take around 30-45 minutes, any recovery needed is only usually a couple of days, and results can last 6-12 months.  Dermal fillers are similar, but can last up to 18 months.
